Cycle Oregon Weekend Heats Up

Last weekend some of our STRADA folks braved the recent heatwave to ride 145 miles from Eugene to Oakland (Oregon, that is) and back on the Cycle Oregon Weekend ride.  As a continuation of last year's route, this route continued on in creating the Oregon Scenic Byway - a signed cycling route from Portland to the California border.


With temperatures rising to 112 degrees (climbing the hills of course!) asphalt was bubbling and water bottles were being drained both in the mouth and over the head!  All made it unscathed - except for being a bit tired and, well, hot!!  A plunge into the river at the finish line was a well deserved treat!
